What a great idea! I love the 'subtle way' of telling people you're on your honeymoon! It reminds me of the Friends episode when Chandler and Monica went on their honeymoon, haha. My honeymoon question: what are some of the essentials that need to be packed, and what are some things that can be left at home? As for my dream honeymoon, I would have to discuss it with the future husband! But, I would want to go someplace beautiful with chilly nights, so we can snuggle up with each other. :]
ANSWER: Thank you. Yes, it’s subtle and cute. Chilly nights = fun + romance! Here are my packing tips for setting the honey-mood, along with tips on how to enjoy your honeymoon packing experience! This is your special time and the honeymoon goose-bumps begin the moment you and your hubby-to-be select your special destination. Packing for this trip shouldn’t be a chore. Here are quick tips to set the mood and enjoy the experience of packing for your sexiest trip ever!

Light Candles- It will strike a sensual mood as you pack your sexiest under-things and sort out what you might want to wear on the actual wedding night.

Sexy Tunes- Play your favorite music or some smooth jazz to put you at easy and make you feel romantic. Take a listen to Pandora.com- you can customize your play list or get a classic CD like “The Very Best of Roberta Flack,” play it while you pack and then on your wedding night.

Toast to You- Lay off the wedding planning stress and take a moment to plan for the private times you will be sharing with your new husband while sipping on your favorite cocktail or a nice glass of wine.

Plan the perfect escape— Pack like you’re eloping or think of yourself as sexy secret agent whose mission is to entice and be inspired by love. Take Sexy Stock: Lay all of your new purchases and gifts from your shower or bachelorette party to get an idea of what new nighties and sexy underwear he might like to see…and on what night.

Maritza’s Packing Tips inspired by the Honeymoon Bag.
THINK BEACH CHIC. Find a carry-on, that’s a carry-all and acts as a travel tote and beach bag. A good rule of thumb is to fill it with everything you need for your flight and your first escape to the beach. Should your check-in luggage get delayed, your first trip to the sands won’t be compromised.
CHANNEL YOUR INNER GLOW. Mascara, concealer, blush, lip gloss and a hydrating face spray is all you should need. Your inner bridal glow will take care of the rest. However, this is the perfect excuse to check out your favorite cosmetic counters for a lip and blush set that speaks to your mood and honeymoon destination. Many cosmetic companies look to exotic locales to create palettes represented by hot spots like the South Pacific, Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Added bonus: Tell your sales rep that you’re going on your honeymoon and she might give you some travel-size free samples. ***If you have room add a powdered bronzer or tinted moisturizerBoth of these products are designed to give you an effortlessly, natural glow. It’s just a matter of preference as to which you want to use. A neat trick is to use both. First apply a tinted moisturizer and then follow with a powdered bronzer on places where the sun naturally hits your face (forehead, tip of your nose, apple of your cheeks and tip of your chin) while leaving the other areas of your skin dewy courtesy of the tinted moisturizer. Stila’s Sheer Color tinted moisturizer is easy to use and comes in a variety of shades with an SPF of 15. It’s light, hydrating formula is ideal for all skin types and will make your face radiate under candlelight.
PRACTICE SAFE SKIN. Pack easy-to-use products that both you and your hubby can share. A product like Coppertone’s No-Rub Sunscreen is great because it’s a continuous spray that provides quick and even coverage and, best of all, its waterproof.
THINK EASY-SEXY HAIR. Pack a bottle of aloe vera gel— aside from alleviating redness and providing moisture after a day out in the sun, you can mix it with water to spritz and cool off while on the beach. Aloe vera also acts as a great pomade to tame fly-aways and eliminate frizz. A neat trick is to apply aloe vera gel to wet hair and let dry naturally to get coveted beach waves.
THINK DATE NIGHT. Now’s the perfect time to show-stop with stilettos that make you look and feel your sexiest, but can’t be tolerated for long periods of time. You know the pair you purchased for a romantic dinner date, but never seem to wear—the moment has finally arrived…dust off the dinner heels…its date night!
THINK SCENTSATIONAL. A very important part of your honeymoon beauty routine should be spraying on the right fragrance. Remember your choice fragrance will serve to remind you of your magical vacation for years to come. Since scent is undoubtedly linked to memory, select a fragrance that is reminiscent of your destination. Lots of cosmetic companies are developing fragrances that are destination driven and evoke the smell of the islands. A great one is Beach by Bobbi Brown.
THINK NO NIGHT-NIGHT NIGHTY. It’s traditional and memorable to wear white lingerie on your honeymoon night, but keep things spicy and unexpected by wearing a red panty under traditional wedding night white.

My question is: My fiance thinks I am possibly crazy for the amount of dresses I want to buy for our 7 day Caribbean beach trip. I am expecting to be lounging around in pretty dresses, and he thinks I need more active clothes. I don't want to pack everything I own. What is a good balance of outfits to pack for Jamaica?
ANSWER: Rock those dresses! If you’re a girly girl at heart then go for it. I feel a very Sex and The City/Carrie inspiration coming on…do you? Remember to add in a dark + sexy jean and a sporty short or a short jumper set…that could be very cute. Email pictures from your cruise ensemble and I’ll post them! Here’s another tip…since you are going on a cruise…you might be able to get away with taking more…you should rock an old fashioned train case (email me if you want leads) or an old-fashioned small steam trunk. Call ahead to see what you can get away with on the boat.

Fiance and I are kind of travel virgins so I could bombard you with questions-- I'll try my best to keep it at one! Our honeymoon (looking into AI resorts) will be our first trip out of the country and we are considering working with a travel agent. I have the same question as a few other ladies on here-- is there an advantage (other than possibly holding onto what little sanity I still have left after wedding planning) to working with a travel agent when booking an all-inclusive vacation?
ANSWER: Yes, lots of advantages like savings, dining advice, insider discounts, etc. Try www.moonrings.com.

I'd love a honeymoon bag!My honeymoon is a suprise for me, but I do know that it will be tropical.. My question is: is it always worth asking for a honeymoon upgrade? Or is there a way to know where we're more likely to get it vs. places that won't give anything extra?
ANSWER: They are available at www.beautygram.com. Yes, it is always worth asking for an upgrade…the worst that could happen (usually) is that they compensate with something else.

HI!! My question (and entry for this competition) is on behalf of a dear friend who's getting married in two weeks!! they have a unique work situation where the first year of their marriage will be spent long distance and despite that, they just couldn't wait to be husband and wife! They can't take their dream honeymoon until after that first year so what honeymoon advice would you give to them, a wonderful couple already married for a year! she doesn't even know i'm entering this in for her...hahaha! she'll be so surprised!
ANSWER: Ahhh…how romantic. I would say to try and take a mini-moon before their year apart. VERY IMPORTANT. In the meantime, they can save for the big honeymoon plans and write love letters to each other. They can develop a “travel diary” in preparation and cut out pictures and information of where they might want to jet off to.

Tres cute bag. My question is whether or not it's best to tell the hotels an flights upfront that you're on your honeymoon or book it and once you show up then tell them about it to get a nice upgrade. I am very confused about this point. Our dream honeymoon consists of travelling the world, firstly backpacking through Europe followed by a relaxing week on the beaches of Thailand and then home to our newlywed nest to hunker down and settle into married life as our normal life.
ANSWER: Thank you!!! Yes, call the resort/hotel up in advance—there is no harm in doing this. Ask for a manager. Sometimes resorts have a “romance specialist” or a “honeymoon expert” of sorts. Ask for them. Good luck!!

Very cute bags! I'd like to know if the all-inclusive packages are really worth it and any cool recommendations in the Caribbean.(Bag and question for my SIL.)My honeymoon was in the Provence region of France. Each morning, we ate pan au chocolat on our balcony overlooking the Mediterranean, planning our day. We rented a car and visited different towns. Wineries, beaches, museums, perfume factories, restaurants... Heavenly. I can't wait to go back!
ANSWER: It depends. All-inclusives are good values, but boutique hotels tend to be more quaint, personal and memorable. If you plan on eating and drinking to your hearts content then go with an all-inclusive.

Our plan is to spend a day or two in Athens and then visit Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and Delos. This is our dream honeymoon--the only thing we would possibly change is being able to stay longer and see some of the less touristy islands!
ANSWER: For one, the packing experience. Here’s a way to make it memorable. Also, the sheer ratio of lingerie to out-door clothing!!

Love the honeymoon bag!!! My question is this: we're actually postponing the real blowout big honeymoon until our 1st anniversay, but we will be doing a mini-moon after the wedding. How do we tactfully tell people who untactfully ask why we are doing this?
ANSWER: Thank you…love it too. Tell them you want to get away for a little while after the wedding and are saving for a bigger splurge later…there’s no harm in that. Or, just say you’re going away after the honeymoon and it’s a secret…if you don’t want to be bothered with any type of questioning. People will be respecting the bride on the day of the wedding—they won’t bother you too much.

How handy would this be! We're spending 5 days in Puerto Rico and then going on a 7 day cruise and we. can't. wait. My question for you is, we have not yet booked airfare. Its gone up $20 this week over last week. When do you think the best time to buy airfare is? Also is there any point in booking that through an agent?
ANSWER: Companies like www.moonrings.com get you good deals. Book early especially with the decrease in flights nowadays.

What a handy-dandy bag! Okay, so I have so many questions regarding the whole wedding planning process, but many include questions about the honeymoon! We have not nailed down a place yet, but would love for it to be unique, relaxing and beautiful- what couple wouldnt, right? So, the big question is- how do you find a honeymoon destination that is perfect for the two of you?
ANSWER: Seek a venue that speaks to the two of you. It’s it a beach hideaway? Does it serve favored cuisine? Does it offer spa therapy, etc? If you two are into recreation- what’s on their menu—that type of thing.

This is a great bag! Love the color and versatility! My question for Maritza is simple: book your own trip online or with a travel agency? Which is best?

First things first: The bag. LOVE IT. What a fabulous idea! Maritza, My guy and I share many things in common, but our idea's of a romantic getaway are split between an action packed adventure, and a relaxing, low-key event. Of course we are more than willing to comprimise, but how do you choose your destination based on two separate agendas? Thanks for your input in advance, and good luck to my fellow honeymooners!
ANSWER: Thank you Chelsea!! I would settle on a place that provided relaxation and recreation. Cabo is a good place to hit for both. Hawaii is another one!

Can you make the bag say "honeymoon bag" in different languages so that those of us going to exotic locations for our honeymoon can reap the benefits too?! Thanks :)

This is an adorable bag. My question about honeymoon packing is honestly, where do I start? I have awhile before my wedding, but I know it will end up coming up faster than I imagined. Where do I start on packing for my honeymoon? what are the most important things to remember? As far as my hoped for honeymoon, my fiance and I would love to just get away up in the mountains somewhere in a nice cabin. I don't want to go completely rustic, I will need clean bathrooms and a kitchen, but as long as I have that, a fire, and my husband, it will be perfect.

Ooooohhh... what a great idea! My question has to do with the exact purpose of the bag: What is the most polite and gracious way to ask for upgrades and/or freebies on your honeymoon? I imagine there's a classy way of attempting to take advantage of the opportunity, right? We're off to the West Indies for a month in October. I can't wait!!!
ANSWER: Just carry the Honeymoon Bag around naturally—people will notice. If you are afraid to ask for an upgrade in person….1) try carrying the bag and/or 2) calling prior to your arrival. You might feel more comfortable asking questions over the phone vs. in-person.

What do you think of mini-moons and how long is too long to wait to take a honeymoon? Our vision is to go to Sayulita, Mexico, for a surfing mini-moon right after the wedding. Then, later that year, we want to go to Alaska and stay in all the grand lodges. It's the perfect blend of warm and cold, yet adventure!
ANSWER: I love mini-moons and it’s never too late to take a honeymoon! My friend waited a year and a half—that’s okay too. Whatever works for you!

Erica said...
I LOVE the bag, and hope that it works. Here's my question: if using frequent flier miles AND hotel points for the honeymoon, should you book the flights or the rooms first? I don't want change/cancellation fees!
ANSWER: I guess I would book the one with the most point value first.

Great bag! We are going on our first cruise to the Western Carribean in October for our honeymoon. Do you know if we will have to use the honeymoon bag to pack shower items, like shampoo and body wash, or will it be provided by the cruise ship? Also, do I really need to bring several bathing suits or do you think I can get away with the same one for 7 days :)
ANSWER: Hotels provide toiletries so I would imagine cruise ships might as well. Look at your amenities list for a true answer as I don’t know the name of your cruise line. I would probably bring along two for a seven day stint.

I love this idea! The bag is SO fun!My question is: "What is your best money saving tip when traveling in Europe?"I hope for a very budget-friendly honeymoon that is still fun and memorable!

cute cute bag! It would be great schlupping around all of my stuff in Hawaii. My question: What are some things newlyweds forget to pack for their honeymoon? Is bottled water allowed on the plane? Haha
ANSWER: Thank you. Yes, bottled water is allowed on the plane when purchased after security check-in. People forget to pack sun screen, phone chargers and camera chargers…remember these devices. Have fun!

I am going on my honeymoon in 2 weeks!! We're going to Hawaii (Honolulu and Kona). My question is very simple - what's the best way to enjoy and make it a memorable honeymoon? Should it be pure relaxation (laying on the beach drinking yummy cocktails, spas) or adventure packed (hiking, helicoptor tours, kayaking)?

ANSWER: Focus on each other—that’s the best use of your time. I’ve heard the beaches in Hawaii are breathtaking so definitely splurge on your time there. A couples’ massage is fun. Also, take a day to sightsee and perhaps visit the natural waterfalls. Have a blast!

Our plan for the honeymoon is to go somewhere far enough away that it is a signficant trip but not somewhere we are dying to go (and therefore would want to spend the whole time sightseeing) So we are looking into destinations that will be memorable and yet relaxing enough to allow a lot of down time? Any recommendations? We are looking at Greece now. Thanks!
ANSWER: I would totally do Greece…that’s my number one pick…if not, how about Tuscany?

Chandra said...
I love this idea as a way to get honeymoon perks as well as carry a super cute bag! My question is, I hope to go to Italy for my honeymoon and travel all over. How could I best pack to take my bags with me (I'm not "backpacking it" for my honeymoon afterall!) without lugging around a huge bag all over the country? Thanks!
ANSWER: I think the Honeymoon Bag would be perfect for your toiletries and girly items. Next, pack your other essentials/clothes in a big, comfortable suitcase. Pack clothes that do double duty like sundresses, a sexy jean and capris—all of these can go from day to night easily. This packing style restricts you to two bags (you can take up to two bags on the plane—see how nicely this works out?).

Jennifer said...
We are going to both Costa Rica and to San Fran for our honeymoon…how do I pack efficiently but still be prepared for both places?!
ANSWER: Nice!! Layer it up…that’s the best route. Napa (in case you go there might be a little similar to Costa Rica= Warm), San Francisco= cool for the most part. Try jeans, leggings, dresses (with and without cardigan pull-overs), t-shirts that allow room for hoodies to shield you from the brisk air.

The honeymoon tote is super cute! My fiance and I are trying to decide where to go for our honeymoon and are stuck. Would you suggest spending several days traveling to our honeymoon, because it's a once in a lifetime trip to go anywhere (Greece, Spain, France), or stay in a little closer and have lots more time to actually enjoy it (Carribean, Costa Rica)? Thanks!
ANSWER; My husband and I pondered this same question…so we ended up in Mexico—that’s always a nice option (tropical, yet close). Allow a day in between the wedding and the honeymoon and you can travel almost anywhere. You’ll have time to sleep on the plane.

My question is: Is it worth it to splurge on the little "necessary luxuries" like first class airfare, honeymoon suites and expensive spa packages while on the honeymoon? All of those things sound so lovely but of course are pricey! Will the once-in-a-lifetime experience be worth the extra expense? My dream honeymoon would be a tour of the Italian coast with stays in villas with terraces overlooking the water and travel into the wine country. Sigh. Of course, any place I can travel with my man would be perfect.
ANSWER: Yes! Splurge on room upgrade for sure—first class travel— not so much unless you are traveling somewhere way far! Don’t get a spa package…get a spa treatment. Not worth being talked into a package—you want time to do other things.

Hooray! Cute cute cute!My question for our upcoming honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean is: Since this is my first cruise I am not sure the combination of clothes to pack! I don't want to overpack but I've heard there are sometimes fancier dinners, etc and I have no clue what to be prepared for! EEK :) What staples should I bring that will be great transition pieces? We want to travel everywhere but we especially can't wait to get to Oregon with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other!

ANSWER: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Pack a strapless sundress- this should take you far—it’s dressy, yet playful—great for your dinner date. Take dressy shorts to wear with wedges (great for day and night), sundresses are key, a jean for your flight and for night, and capris work magic for dressing up and dressing down outfits with heels and strappy sandals.

I love the honeymoon bag! Pretty colors (and just enough of a hint for goodies!).My question is, what are the best items to take for a honeymoon that includes adventures travel (hiking, tubing, zip-lining, etc.), beach, AND going out? We're headed to Belize and I don't want to overpack, so I'm searching for versatile items that I can wash in the sink and re-use for a variety of occasions. ANSWER: Well aside from my beauty and romantic packing suggestions on beautygram.com (see http://www.beautygram.com/ed_picks.php).
As far as easy-to-wear/easy to wash active clothing—go for stretchable fabrics which bounce right back into place when you take them out of the suitcase or wash them. Lycra works for active day time looks and jersey knit works for evening looks.

Hi! We are going to Greece for our honeymoon. My question is, what are the absolute essentials for a trip to Athens and the Islands.
ANSWER: Have a fabulous time there! I would pack breezy water-colored fabrics. Also, versatile pieces like a shall that could be worn with your swimsuit during the day and at night for cocktails. I would splurge on a Mediterranean scent to wear while you’re there—that way every time you where it back home it will remind you of your honeymoon—I consider this an essential! A strappy low heel sandal and one with a heel or wedge would work wonderfully there—this might be the only footwear you’ll need there. A straw hat would definitely complete any outfit along with some chunky, colorful bracelets—go for silver (or gun metal), tiffany blue and white.

Love the bag! My question for Maritza is: Do you recommend that, when booking hotel rooms, we say it is for our honeymoon? On the one hand, it may help us get perks and a nicer suite; on the other hand they may charge more. For our honeymoon we are planning a safari in Tanzania & then relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar!
ANSWER: Thank you and YES indeed. They shouldn’t charge you more…I’ve never heard of such a thing. Sounds exotic…have fun!!

love the bag! we're going to germany for our honeymoon in december. any ideas for being able to do fun stuff without breaking the bank w/ the euro/dollar exchange rate would be much appreciated! thanks!
ANSWER: Don’t know much about the euro/dollar exchange (try http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html). I would research local hotpots in Germany near the areas you’ll be visiting ahead of time. Try Bavarian Three Star Castles, German Manor Houses and typical Inns for romantic stays. Hard to recommend specific sites since I don’t know where in Germany you will be.

I think I have packing down... Do you have any stories or suggestions of simple and creative ways I could surprise my new husband with fun additions to the honeymoon? Example: Nalgene filled with wine on an overnight kayaking trip. Or buying a mini-sized game and packing it along...I hope my honeymoon would be to a quaint costal town in the Greece Islands with access to beaches and kayaking.
ANSWER: A quaint costal town in Greece sounds perfect! Packing a game would be fun (How about ‘101 Nights of Great Sex’ board game?). The perfect romantic surprise would be a couple’s massage.

LOVE the bag! It is practical, tasteful, yet fun and adorable! For our honeymoon (which is less than 3 weeks away!) we are going to Peter Island in the BVI. It is supposed to be very secluded and relaxing, what we envision our dream honeymoon to be. My question is - after a week at the beach, how do you get all of the sandy, damp clothes home without ruining them or your suitcase? I'm not interested in doing laundry on the most romantic trip of my life but I'm already dreading unpacking our sandy, salty bathing suits when we get home.
ANSWER: Thank you for your wonderful comments. Take plastic bags to fit these types of used clothing. Rinsing your beach items at the end of each day really helps—you don’t have to wash…you can rinse.

This bag is super-cute, and I love the color! My question is: Do you have any tips for packing for various weather conditions? We are planning to go to Sonoma, California in April, so I expect it to be warm during the days and much cooler at night. I don't want to overpack, and I can only think of active-wear clothing that is good for layering, so if you have tips on good casual and dressy layering pieces, it would be greatly appreciated.
ANSWER: Thank you! The number one tip for packing for various weather conditions is layering!! Oh my Sonoma—excellent…you will LOVE it! Word of caution…Sonoma/Napa/Tiberon is much hotter in temperature than San Francisco in case you are planning to cross the bay…which is a must BTW!! Pack a good dark jean, a dress that could be worn with a cardigan at night and leggings are always good for multi-use! Tights also work really well for the ultimate ‘San Francisco look’.

The honeymoon bag is darling! What a neat place to keep all of your honeymoon planning materials - and then it can come along with you! My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon, which will be in mid September of 2009. We have not firmly decided on a location yet, but we're leaning toward the Caribbean. Neither of us have been to a truly tropical place, and would love to sink our married toes in to some warm Caribbean sand! My question: Any advice for newlyweds who want to travel the Caribbean during hurricane season? Are there certain places that rarely are a threat? We'd hate to get rained out or swept away! ANSWER: Thank for loving my product, the Honeymoon Bag. I would stay clear from locales in a hurricane’s wake! You don’t want to be worried about your trip being cancelled or significantly delayed because of a Hurricane— they can be very unpredictable. Mexico or Hawaii might be safer bets…not sure as you can’t predict Mother Nature. Good luck and safety first!

I love the color and versatility! My fiance and I are trying to go to the west coast to tour wine country - we haven't decided exactly where to go yet. Our dream honeymoon - wine country in Italy: ) My question: I worry SO much when traveling. How can I assure that I stay organized, calm, and happy?
ANSWER: This is your honeymoon- relax and focus on each other. Don’t waste valuable + PRECIOUS time being worried. Travel within the United States is easier/smoother anyway. Wine Country- great pick! You’ll feel like you’re in Italy a bit too. (Wine will also serve to relax you. ;-)

My question: Where am I going on my honeymoon?I have no idea where we're going, as my Limey has decided that it will be a surprise. A dream HM would be to the Maldives, but I think we're staying closer to home!A related question: How do you pack when you don't know where you're going?
ANSWER: A surprise…how romantic! Take the essentials: lingerie (lots of it), a bathing suit (good for indoor and outdoor use), a travel bag for day/beach trips (The Honeymoon Bag is good for that BTW), sandals and a closed toe shoe also work well. Ask the hubby-to-be for a guide—is it a sunny/warm destination or chilly/cool romantic spot. Regardless of where you’ll be going…have fun packing accessories like earrings, bracelets and beauty products—they jazz up outfits regardless of the weather outside!

Oooh, super cute! My question is...what is the top way to save money when booking or while on the honeymoon. We're planning to go all-inclusive (Cancun area, perhaps? next July) in order to know before-hand how much we'll be spending. We are also using a friend-of-the-family travel agent to try to get great deals. Any other suggestions?
ANSWER: Super Thank you!! Booking trips, excursions and honeymoon registry: http://www.moonrings.com/. While on the honeymoon: don’t worry about souvenirs. An all-inclusive will save you money on food—so that’s the way to go if you are on a very strict budget. Good luck!

My question is... how to pack for winter weather? I live in Florida but we are going to Tahoe! Love the bag!My dream honeymoon would be Europe/Italy.
ANSWER: Thank you. Pack a cute/fashionable winter/ski bomb jacket with detachable sleeves. This type of coat is very versatile. Pack a scarf, and gloves too. How romantic…don’t forget to sip hot chocolate by the fire place.

Love the bag! We're planning a honeymoon road trip from Minnesota (where I grew up) back to San Francisco (where we live). We chose this plan in part because we can bring our dog if we plan ahead. My question is: Is it a horrible idea to bring the pooch? Any tips for travelers with pups?Dream HM: Paris, s'il vous plait.
ANSWER: Cute idea…love San Francisco. Yes, take the pooch…he’s obviously an important part of your lives. Take lots of toys to entertain him while on the road. A collapsible bowl for water is key and a blanket from home—he will recognize the smell and won’t panic.

I absolutely love this bag! How perfect, special and cute! My fiance and I can't decide on beach or Europe. Both are so different, but seem equally romantic. I think my ideal wedding would be on the beach in Hawaii. My question about honeymooning is are there advantages to waiting a few months to honeymoon or is it better to go directly after the wedding? Thank you!
ANSWER: I always vote for a mini-moon if you can’t do a full blown honeymoon right away. The two of you need to escape privately—get away even if it is in the States or for only a couple of days.

My question - what's the best way to start research for a local honeymoon with cooking classes?Ideally I'd go to Japan and study cooking there - I love to travel, but I want to also learn new things while I'm doing so.
ANSWER: I think Mexico has some good ones as a matter of fact. Try searching Mexico first. Also, visit http://www.moonrings.com/ for this special honeymoon request. They might have vast knowledge on the subject. Wine Country USA might also be a good choice!!!!!!!!

Those bags are so cute!!! Question: What tips can you give on how to pack lightly? I have a tendency to overpack and would like to learn to be more efficient.Dream Honeymoon: I would love to go anywhere where there are white sand beaches.. My fiance and I are not much into sight seeing, and we'd rather just relax on the sand all day long.
ANSWER: Pack items which provide versatility. Like a skirt that can be worn as a strapless dress or a skirt, shorts that can be worn with tennis shoes during the day and strappy sandals at night. Wear your jeans on the plane…that way they take up less room in your bag. If you really want to focus on packing the bare essentials—swimsuits, lingerie, a versatile sundress, jeans and a sexy top should do it!

That bag rocks! Its a great bag AND a great way to point out to people that you are on your honeymoon without sounding like you are begging for free upgrades! Two questions: Honeymoon recommendation for scuba fanatics? We want to go somewhere kind of like the Big Island of Hawaii, where we can dive, hike, OR be honeymoon bums and stay in our room or on the beach for hours on end. (Big Island is out because we've been there so much.)Second question - is the bag washing machine safe? If I am using it alot - I need to be able to wash it without ruining it! =)
ANSWER: The Honeymoon Bag is 100% machine washable. Thank you for your lovely comments!! I heard there are a lot of water sport activities available in Hawaii…you might also want to try Aruba as my cousin said he had a great time scuba diving there while on his honeymoon…Los Cabos, Mexico might be another option.

Love the honeymoon bag! We're going to Puerta Vallarta after the wedding. I actually have two questions: How can one avoid drinking or eating something that will ruin the vacation, but still experience the local cuisine? Also, is there such as thing as a honeymoon upgrade? Thanks
ANSWER: A ‘honeymoon upgrade’ for sure…you should expect royal treatment while on your honeymoon—since you typically only get one vacation like this in your lifetime! The Honeymoon Bag can help garnish you complimentary upgrades. As far as eating/drinking safely…I would stay clear of raw foods and anything you’re allergic to—ask about ingredients in prepared foods that you might be skeptical about. Drink bottled water. For the most part, I would just r-e-l-a-x and not worry too much. If you’re staying in a resort, chances are your food and drinks should be safe.

These are so cute, and i love the idea of attracting freebies by carrying it! you know we brides love our freebies :) My question is regarding travel insurance. Is it honestly necessary or is it just a scam to try to get a few extra bucks out of us? As far as my dream honeymoon i think it would be a trip to Africa...1/2 safari in Tanzania, 1/2 beach holiday in Zanzibar!
ANSWER: Thanks!! Yes attracting freebies with the Honeymoon Bag is fun! Hmm…the insurance question…that’s a good one! We didn’t get extra insurance while on our honeymoon. We mainly paid for things via American Express which guarantees you some security that way. This one is totally your call. What would make you feel more comfortable? If you want extra safety then purchase traveler’s insurance. Here’s some more info on the subject: http://honeymoons.about.com/od/wordsofwisdom/qt/trave_insurance.htm or visit www.myhoneymooninsurance.com.

Great idea, and cute bag! My fiance is in the military and I just graduated with student loans so we're on a tight budget. I've heard that you can get great military discounts with travel, though. How could we go about finding those for our honeymoon? Or, if not military, any great deals for a fun & romantic location? We're up for anything!
ANSWER: Check out the Armed Forces Vacation Club http://www.afvclub.com/. You can rent luxury condos around the world for $249 per week. In addition, many hotels and resorts offer military discounts so always ask.

Great bag--I love the idea of being able to "innocently" let others know that we're on our honeymoon. On to the question. With all of the baggage restrictions/charges that have hit airlines, suitcase space is definitely becoming a hot commodity. I am notorious for overpacking beauty supplies so that I will be ready for any occasion on a trip. What suggestions do you have for packing light, but still being ready for everything from sightseeing and beach-lounging to a special dinner with my new hubby? We haven't booked our honeymoon yet, but my dream honeymoon would be to go somewhere where we can relax and enjoy the time after our wedding without a lot of pressure to see or do a million things. I'd love to be able to just let our mood dictate the day--maybe lounge on the beach, explore the area, or just lay in bed all day!
ANSWER: As detailed on my site, www.beautygram.com, here are four beauty packing tips to set the honey-mood!

Channel your inner glow. Mascara, concealer, blush, lip gloss and a hydrating face spray is all you need. Your inner bridal glow will take care of the rest. However, this is the perfect excuse to buy a new lip and blush set that speaks to your ‘honey-mood’ and travel destination. Many spring color stories feature color palettes inspired by hot spots like the Mediterranean.

Practice safe skin. Pack easy-to-use products that both you and your hubby can share. A product like Coppertone’s No-Rub Sunscreen is great because it’s a continuous spray that provides quick and even coverage.

Think scentsational. Remember your choice fragrance will remind you of your magical vacation for years to come. Select a fragrance that is reminiscent of your honeymoon spot. Lots of cosmetic companies are developing fragrances that are destination driven and evoke the smell of the islands. My favorite is Beach by Bobbi Brown.
P.S. The Honeymoon Bag is also sold as a travel beauty set complete with all of the cosmetic products you’ll need to be glowy and polished throughout day time excursions and night time festivities.

I love the honeymoon bag! What a fun idea! We are heading to Fiji for our honeymoon. Two weeks of fun and sun on a small island. On such a beautiful tropical vacation I know I will have to worry about two things, bugs and the sun!!! (Yes, I have to worry about the sun! I'm a fair skinned girl from the Pacific Northwest.) Do you have any recommendations for bug spray and sun screen?
ANSWER: Thank you for your wonderful comments about the Honeymoon Bag. Avon Skin So Soft Bug spray is the best!! For sun screen go with high a SPF (30, 50 and up)—I like the new rub-less spray-on formulations. They provide great coverage and are easy to apply. Another option is L’Occitane available in better shopping malls across America. This brand makes more traditional creams and formulations— a bit more luxurious of course, but worth it. Also, they offer some of the highest concentrations of SPF on the market!

Love it! My question...I am a habitual overpacker. With the new extra fees for additional bags, what is the best way to stop overpacking?
ANSWER: Thank you! Create the right Honey-mood! Here’s the complete list for all of the packing essentials you will need for your trip of a lifetime. View other tips on www.beautygram.com.

With all of today’s carry-on and check-in restrictions, the space in your bag is prime real estate. It is important to pack items that are going to lighten your load, uplift your mood and add to your honeymoon experience.

Think no ‘night-night’ nighty. It’s traditional and memorable to wear white lingerie on your honeymoon night, but keep things spicy and unexpected by wearing a red sexy panty underneath to relay you’re ready for playtime, not bedtime.

Love the cute bags!My question is how to best ask for free upgrades when it comes to booking for honeymoons. Is better to talk to the manager, book via online, etc? My dream honeymoon would be to travel through countries in Europe - Spain, Germany, France, and Italy...of course on an unlimited budget!
ANSWER: Taking the Honeymoon Bag makes things easier/legit when asking for/wanting free upgrades. Another tip, call the hotel you will be staying at before your arrival. Ask to speak to the manager and politely request an upgrade. Sound excited and passionate about why you’ve chosen their particular venue to spend your honeymoon! Also, note some hotels will want to see a copy of a marriage license/certificate so have that handy just in case.

I love the bag! It's our wedding colors too.I would like to know if you recommend the "all inclusive" type resorts. Do you have any recommendations as far as the packages and if we should use a travel agent?ANSWER: Thanks! What a coincidence— Would probably suit you nicely then don’t you think?! Like I’ve mentioned before…I’m a firm believer in www.moonrings.com for travel arrangements and seeking out more romantic boutique type hotels or resorts instead of big a ‘all inclusive’ resort for your honeymoon. You want your stay to be adult focused—bigger resorts tend to have spring break type partiers…not what you want to see while honeymooning.

Oh how charming! I love the idea of having a special bag that also serves as a keepsake! I can think of all sorts of naughty and nice things to pack in my bag :)My question: where's the best "undiscovered gem" of a location you're dying to share? We hope to have a mini-moon somewhere affordable right after the wedding, and save for a 1-year anniversary Honeymoon to Thailand!
ANSWER: Naughty and nice packing is always fun. The Honeymoon Bag gets you in the mood to pack both themes. I LOVE NAPA! You can’t go wrong with any hotel, resort or bed and breakfast inn in Napa or Sonoma. As far as ‘undiscovered’…I love Casa Madrona in Saulselito, CA. They have some great specials sometimes— I stayed there and loved it! Here are two other gems I’ve always wanted to stay at in Tiberon, CA:

What a great bag! I love the idea of sharing your newly-wedded joy - in a classy and cute way. :)We plan to honeymoon in Costa Rica - so far we hope to spend half the time at the beach and half in the jungle or by Arenal Volcano. We want to have a great experience, while still taking the time to relax and be together with no to-do lists (a must after planning a wedding!) what are your tips for balancing sight-seeing and laid-back time?
ANSWER: Thank you! Yes, the Honeymoon Bag is a great way to share wedded joy. I say plan ahead (before you get to your destination) so you don’t have to ‘think’ too much when you arrive. If you have 5 days allow one complete day for sight-seeing (search online for must-see places). Allow one day for lounging on the beach. One day for sleeping in and perhaps not leaving your room. One day for ‘where the day takes us’ type of thing and one day for a romantic surprise—either you can take the lead on this one or your groom to be.

The honeymoon bag is absolutely adorable! My question is do wedding guests find it tacky when a couple has a honeymoon registry? We are in the midst of the planning process and I wasn't sure if that is a suitable option for our registry. Thanks in advance for any advice. My dream honeymoon would be a week long trip to Buenos Aires to tango the night away with my new husband. :-)
ANSWER: Thank you for your wonderful comment about my product! I hope you get to tango the night away with your hubby one day soon! As far as honeymoon registries are concerned--they are becoming more and more popular and very acceptable. Your guests want to give you a gift you’ll enjoy and one that you need—who needs an extra toaster. No one wants to give a gift which will inevitably be returned. Guests like to give gifts that are memorable. When you remember your honeymoon years down the road, you’ll remember who helped make it possible.

I would love one of these bags! My fiance and I are hoping to go to Greece for 10 days. My question is also about travel agencies. Are they worth it? They seem hassle-free, which is a definite plus but are they worth the money? Or can I find a cheaper trip booking everything myself?
ANSWER: Ahh…Greece…sounds like paradise. YES they are worth it when it comes to honeymoon planning. As I’ve said before, http://www.moonrings.com/ is a good resource. For a small fee, they provide cheaper rates and assist you in case something should go wrong while on your honeymoon. Think of them as your personal concierge.

Very cute bags!! My question on honeymoons is whether there is any advantage to booking through a travel agent. I thought that those went out with milk delivery, but everyone keeps saying I should look into it. As for dream honeymoon, I'll assume that means no budget - so really, I would love to stay in one of those over water huts in Fiji for a week and then fly to New Zealand to explore the country over another two weeks.
ANSWER: I recommend using a travel agency which focuses on romantic trips and honeymoons. A good one to try is www.moonrings.com. I used them and loved them. Travel insiders like this can get you exclusive, wholesale rates.

Nice bag! This could come in handy for me as I am extremely scatterbrained and unorganized. My question is, what is the one thing many couples tend to forget or overlook when it comes to packing for their honeymoon? Because I'm sure we would fall into that category. As far as our honeymoon goes, we are but poor college students so we are tying in our honeymoon with our wedding on a week long cruise to the Bahamas. My dream honeymoon would be to backpack across Europe. Maybe one day :)
ANSWER: Hope you get to go on your dream honeymoon one day soon! Number one forgotten or overlooked item…probably sun-screen and/or sun-block. Another forgotten item is a travel candle. Set the mood…it’s your honeymoon! That special scent you burn will stay with you for years to come. Remember scent is strongly tied to memories.

I love the honeymoon bag! My question is this; we're going on a Southern Carribean Cruise for our honeymoon and the exotic ports are to die for- but not literally. How do I know where it will be safe to drink the local water?

My question is what is the most offbeat honeymoon you've heard of people doing? We are going to Portugal, so I am really excited!

Love the bag! My question is: How far in advance should you book your honeymoon? I've hear couples who do it a year and a half before the wedding, while others swear you get the best flights and deals less than six months out. Does the early bird really get the worm? My dream honeymoon would be a trip to Tahiti were I can just relax on the beach and in a private cabana with my new hubby!
ANSWER: I’m a firm believer in scouting for the best deals and resorts so that takes time. The earlier you start planning, the better off you’ll be. Plus you want to guarantee availability…you don’t want to have to settle on your honeymoon!

Oh the honeymoon. My fiance is planning it all, so my question is what are the top mistakes made when planning the honeymoon (to make sure the fiance hasn't made any!)? We're off to Aruba in March and I can't wait! If we could go anywhere, I would love to stay in Italy and tour throughout the country and relax on a island in Greece.
ANSWER: Not letting hotel staffers know that you’re on your honeymoon. Call them in advance so they can plan ahead—hopefully an upgrade can be arranged when you arrive.

Love the bag! My question for Maritza is do you have any fun ideas to pass the time while honeymooners are traveling to their destination? My husband and I are headed to Asheville, NC in a few weeks for our 2 year belated honeymoon.(11/11/2006) We waited because I am getting my Masters and we had just bought a house. The bag will come in useful to remind everyone that this is our honeymoon even though it is 2 years late:)
AS ANSWERED ON BEAUTYGRAM.COM
ANSWER: I have two fun + romantic honeymoon travel tips! Try writing new vows in honor of your two years together or love letters to each other while on the plane and then pass them to each other to read. This is a great way to entertain your mind and your heart and get you in a romantic mood for your arrival! Also, one of my brides provided the great tip of using the plane time to review old wedding pictures (especially those which still might be saved on your digital camera). Since you were married sometime ago, it would be nice to relive your wedding experience and feel like a bride again in preparation for your honeymoon.

Love it!!!I know we lucked out on booking our honeymoon, a 19 day transatlantic cruise from Northern Europe up and over to Iceland & Greenland, and then meander down the North American Eastern front. But how can you make sure that you don't break the bank (again in some cases) after the wedding, on your honeymoon, with all the excursions, trinkets to buy and just other things in order to have some fun and bring back memories?
ANSWER: THANK YOU!! Finalize a budget before you leave and designate amounts your willing to pay for dinner, trinkets, etc. Splurge on each other…don’t worry so much about souvenirs.

Very cute (and clever!) bag. My question is, are those "all inclusive" honeymoon packages really worth it? We're thinking about going to one such resort in St. Lucia, but can't get over the "sticker shock"/can't help but think we could plan a more affordable getaway ourselves...
ANSWER: Much appreciated! ‘All-Inclusive’ gets a little old…FAST in my opinion. Sometimes ‘all-inclusive’ food isn’t even that good and you’re not going on a honeymoon to over-eat. Pick a resort within your means that might be more boutique-y then commercial in nature. The experience will be better and more memorable. Plus, you’ll get to visit a variety of local breakfast, lunch and dinner spots on your own—and that’s more romantic.

This info will be a great help for our 2nd honeymoon to Spain next year, my dream honeymoon. Thanks so much for this, I can't wait to read all the great questions and get some great tips!

I love the casual look and the subtle hint this bag gives to others ;) My fiance and I have already traveled quite a bit - both together and before we met. Our ideal honeymoon right now is Egypt, Israel and Turkey for 3 weeks or so, but I am nervous about planning a trip so far in advance to an area that can at times seem dangerous to travelers. How can we protect our safety without feeling like we are putting our dream on hold because of fear? Also, in my initial research, it seems that with these three countries, the peak seasons are in opposite months, so in one country it might be the best possible weather, while the next one will be the worst weather. How can we maximize this? Thanks!
ANSWER: I was going for subtle- thanks! Wow, not quite sure on how to give advice on this one. I understand your desire to experience these countries for their beauty, yet striving to put safety first. I would say select the country that you are most interested in visiting based on the climate you most prefer.
